Warm Weather
- White and khaki colours are perfect.
- Avoid busy, patterned or bold colours.
- Sleeveless dresses for a girl work well.
- White/pastel polo shirt and light coloured shorts great for a boy.
- For women, capris, shorts, trousers or skirt with white blouse will flatter your figure.
- For men, light coloured polo shirt, shirt or t-shirts, light shorts or trousers work well.
- Blue is also a great choice in warm weather.
- For group portraits, outfits should be varied but in harmony with each other.
Cool/Cold Weather
- Winter coats, smart jumper or jacket always works well.
- Scarves, hat and wollen gloves make great photos and keep you warm!
- Adults - colours should be solid, light or dark
- Bold, colourful colours look great with toddlers and projects their energy and enthusiasm
- Children - colourful boots look great plus keeps their feet snug!
- For group portraits, outfits should be varied but in harmony with each other
- Trainers not preferred
Hair
- If you plan to have your hair styled before for the shoot, schedule an appointment 2 week before your photo session
- Being photographed too soon after can prevent you from looking like yourself
Make-Up
- No make-up for children. I retouch all blemishes including bruises or scratches
- Simplicity is key. Mascara is always good and if using eye shadow, choose a brown or plum. This adds a little depth.
- Use just enough lipstick to enhance your natural skin tone. Again, natural colours are best.
- Dads clean shaven.
